Juan Linz: “Dieter Nohlen is one of the most distinguished scholars in the study of electoral systems and electoral law. He and his collaborators also have done more than anyone else in collecting electoral data -a far from easy task- and this new collection for Asia and the Pacific will be an indispensable source book for scholars”.

Rein Taagepera: “Dieter Nohlen's German-language elections handbook for Latin America (1993) was a superb data source that I have been using steadily. The updated English version, also including North America, will be indispensable for all those who study elections, parties, and democratization comparatively”.

Giovanni Sartori: “These election volumes are a precious, indispensable source of information for cross-national political research, on Asia-Pacific and world-wide. There is no comparable work on the subject”.
